Zarouhie H Kabayan Tarakjian
August 1, 1926 - November 13, 2010
My Dear Mother
Zarouhie Kabayan was born in Beirut, Lebanon on August 1, 1926. Her parents were Hovsep and Cauline Kabayan. She was the only daughter, with eleven brothers. Only one brother survived.
She lost her mother when she was very young, and she does not remember her. Because of that she was a very good mother. She dedicated all her life to her children.
She got married very young, almost fourteen years of age, to Antranig Darakjian. Together they had three sons and one daughter. She was the mother whose life evolved around her family. She was the selfless mother. She was a homemaker and worked very hard day and night to make her family happy.
Her joy and happiness was her family. She had a lot of influence on me and my brothers. She wanted me to have everything she missed in her life. She encouraged me to get my education first and taught me all the good things in order to succeed in life and be independent.
My mother and I were very close. I didn't have any sisters so she was my sister, aunt, mother and friend. In my very young age she successfully taught me the art of cooking, knitting, and sewing.
My Mother was a humble, sincere, smart woman. She lived her life with Christian values.
