Donna Belle Howeth
July 21, 1926 - May 3, 2007

Born in Greenville, Mississippi on July 2, 1926, she passed peacefully from this life on May 3, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her sister Grace Guest, children Donna Howeth Mitchell, Jack Wesley Howeth, his wife, Paula and Patti Howeth Wise, and grandchildren Justin Howeth and wife Meghan, Wesley Howeth, Jason Howeth, and Samantha Mitchell. She is also survived by her former spouse of 34 years, A.J. Howeth, and numerous extended Mississippi family members, her loyal friends Mary Ash, Marcela Hernandez and daughter Marcela Hernandez Quiroz who were always in her thoughts if not close by. She will be remembered for her grace under pressure, natural hospitality, and her extraordinary talent for making people feel welcome from all walks of life, into her own world. She was a true Southern Belle, and proud of her Mississippi upbringing that she carried to the heights of Houston society and culture. She was a former Houston Stock Show and Rodeo International Committe member, a member of the Board of the Women's Christian Home, a member of the Briar Club, and a fundraiser for several women's advocacy groups. The Howeths' legendary New Years Eve's Galas will long be remembered in West Houston. Her generous heart, unwavering support, universal forgiveness, and optimistic outlook on life inspired all those around her. Donna will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and celebrated by those who continue to hold her in their hearts forever.
